At All Powder Coat & Screen, we aim for excellence in everything we do, and that doesn’t end with flawless sheet metal finishing. We’re just as concerned with how a part arrives at your facility: clean, secure, and undamaged after being sent from our Texas powder coating shop.
That’s why we treat packaging as a critical aspect of our manufacturing process. Every part is unique, and we match that with our tailored approach to packaging. Whether your parts are small or big, whether you’re local or across the country, your shipment will arrive safely and ready for use.
Our Texas powder coating shop serves customers across the country, and many projects have a significant trip before reaching their destination. One-size-fits-all packaging won’t work for journeys like these; that would risk scratches or dings en route, requiring reworks and delays to a customer’s timeline. We design a strategy to match the complexity of the part or the size of the shipment because even a slight imperfection can cause a rejection in our aesthetics-focused industry.
The process can vary depending on our capabilities. Powder coated parts are typically ready to be packed within an hour of curing. (By contrast, wet-painted parts may require up to two days to dry completely, another advantage of choosing custom powder coating over wet paint.) In our silk screening or pad printing services, additional drying time is needed, and packing must be arranged to prevent any smudging.
Whatever your part requires, our packaging team is up to the task. Some of our team members have been with us for decades, and they know how to handle any size, geometry, or delicate feature. They’ve seen it all and can adapt our packaging methods to any part.
We always ask customers upfront about any specific packaging requirements. Some have strict shipping protocols that we always closely adhere to, but the most common request is simply, “Make sure it arrives safely.” From there, our team can handle the rest.
Powder coating is a durable finish, but it can’t withstand every impact. Our team knows exactly how to pack every box to reduce damage risk while minimizing shipping costs. In many ways, the process is similar to nesting in a machine shop. We’re always trying to maximize yields.
Repeat orders make the process even simpler. Our team simply replicates previous setups to speed up turnaround times, knowing that the last delivery arrived safely.
Small parts and large parts differ significantly in how they’re shipped. Small parts are wrapped in multiple layers of brown paper, foam, and the proper choice of bubble wrap. (To the untrained eye, bubble wrap may all seem the same, but our team stocks four distinct types of bubble wrap to match all packaging needs!) Shipments are packed securely to reduce freight costs, but never so tightly as to risk damage.
Large or bulky parts present different challenges. One recent job involved large powder-coated parts that required custom boxes for a proper fit. Each part had delicate threaded studs on the back, and we used carefully fitted caps to protect those features before wrapping and boxing.
Whether you’re one of our local partners or you’re positioned across the country, our Texas powder coating team is ready to ship to you. Over our decades in business, we’ve packed and shipped countless unique projects, and we’re ready to send your high-quality parts next.
